Our Favorite Things : Annual Staff Curated Exhibition

For our annual staff curated exhibition, we each picked five pieces of art from the gallery based on five categories: contemporary, traditional, print, estate, and 3D. Artwork featured ranges in medium, style, and era, which we hope offers not only an insight into each of us, but also each of the artists featured in this exhibition. Our Favorite Things is on display until February 1st.

Join us for our First Friday exhibition, It Takes Two : Couples Exhibition in February. This exhibition features artists making art together in Kansas. This new body of work with be installed in our windows and can be viewed from outside as well as inside. THROUGH DECEMBER.   "Sometime in the mid ‘80s, I encountered a vintage Japanese-made tabletop battery powered game/toy at a small thrift shop. Transformation – Paintings by Susan Grace

Susan Grace is a painter who lives and works in Lawrence, KS. Her work has been widely exhibited throughout the U.S., and she has received numerous awards for her work.  Her paintings are in many private and public collections, including the Mulvane Art Museum, Topeka, KS and The Art of Emprise Collection, Wichita, KS. Although she studied painting in Athens, Greece, her academic background is primarily in literature and theater, and she taught courses in modern American and European literature at universities in the U.S. and at The American College of Greece in Athens, Greece.  While teaching, she always maintained an active studio practice regardless of where she was living.
