“LIGHTHOUSE” : Josh Tripoli

First Friday | November 1st 5:30 - 9:00 PM "LIGHTHOUSE" : A new solo exhibition featuring Josh Tripoli. The show features a body of figurative work that's been developed over the course of two years by Josh Tripoli. "LIGHTHOUSE" opens November 1st at the Reuben Saunders Gallery and runs through December 2nd. The idea for "LIGHTHOUSE" originates in the Bible’s, “bodies are temples” verse (1 Corinthians 6:19), which found a creatively compelling analogue in the body as a lighthouse. For our annual staff curated exhibition, we each picked five pieces of art from the gallery based on five categories: contemporary, traditional, print, estate, and 3D. Artwork featured ranges in medium, style, and era, which we hope offers not only an insight into each of us, but also each of the artists featured in this exhibition. This new body of work with be installed in our windows and can be viewed from outside as well as inside. THROUGH DECEMBER.   "Sometime in the mid ‘80s, I encountered a vintage Japanese-made tabletop battery powered game/toy at a small thrift shop. I bought it for a couple of reasons, most notably the lithography and graphics were excellent, all outer-space themed, and because the more I examined it the more I wanted to know the people that conceived of and made it.
