For the month of December, we are showcasing our local and regional artists in our newly renovated gallery space. Please join us December 4 on First Friday from 5:30 – 7:00 PM to celebrate with the Reuben Saunders Gallery. This exhibition will feature a range of works from various artists including Todd Matson, Phil Epp, Elizabeth Rowley, James Borger, Josh Tripoli and many more.
Susan Grace is a painter who lives and works in Lawrence, KS. Her work has been widely exhibited throughout the U.S., and she has received numerous awards for her work. Her paintings are in many private and public collections, including the Mulvane Art Museum, Topeka, KS and The Art of Emprise Collection, Wichita, KS. Although she studied painting in Athens, Greece, her academic background is primarily in literature and theater, and she taught courses in modern American and European literature at universities in the U.S. and at The American College of Greece in Athens, Greece. Schwarm's show focuses on the juxtaposition between the sublime beauty of the Midwest prairies and the absurd beauty of the human civilizations developed on them.
