“I am a classical oil painter, creating traditional art with a pastel twist. My style forms a bond between classical and contemporary art. Inspired by vintage, Rococo, and Japanese Lolita fashion, my work often incorporates whimsical wearables onto canvas.
I symbolize the duality of being delicate but bold, contrary to the notion that femininity is weakness. It is always my goal to embolden the viewers who experience my art and inspire people to be who they truly want to be.”
“I always had an attraction to the arts. Whether it was sketching, theater, painting, playing the guitar, or writing, I always found myself having the urge to create and make something to share with others. For high school I went to Northeast Magnet, and am very thankful to have had the opportunity to be in such an intensive art program. Throughout the four years I was able to develop myself as an artist as well as meet many wonderful artistic peers along the way. I am also very thankful to have been able to study oil painting under the magnificent Ernest Vincent Wood III, and I give him so much credit for helping me achieve where I am today.” – Amy Baber
