Agnes Gabrielle Tait
(1894-1981) Agnes Tait was born in New York and enrolled in the National Academy of Design at age 14, eventually studying under Leon Kroll. She went on to study lithography at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. After spending time in Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Southern Europe and the Caribbean (experiences which all influenced her work) she became a Prairie Print Maker and settled in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Tait now has work in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, Yale University Art Gallery, New York Public Library, Library of Congress, and Museum of New Mexico Art.
