“I grew up in the village of Hudson Falls in northern New York State near the entrance to the Adirondack State Park. I lived on both the east and west US coasts near the Blue Ridge and Santa Ynez Mountains, respectively, before settling near Mount Oread, a limestone rich hill in Lawrence Kansas! I am proud to be a first generation college graduate and academic junkie who recently retired as Professor Emerita from the Department of Molecular Biosciences at the University of Kansas. As a cell and molecular biologist, I bring a different perspective to my art. Most of my work is biology-influenced and in many cases, my artwork appears magnified and somewhat distorted as if viewed through an imaginary lens.”
