John Helm
(1900-1972) John Helm was born in Syracuse, NY and joined the faculty at Kansas State University in 1924. He was instrumental in developing the visual arts culture in Manhattan from 1930-1960. While also a gifted painter, his work was primarily in the media of wood engraving & intaglio (drypoint, aquatint and etching). His love of the Kansas Flint Hills is embodied in his work.
